Pretty Rhythm News March 2016

prad6 animage march 2016 released february 10 2016 hijiri jin poster valentine

Previous post

Jin and Hijiri getting valentine chocolate. The poster is from Animage March 2016 released 10th February 2016. One side is Gundam IBO, other is Pretty Rhythm. Director tweeted “I wonder what the people at sunrise will think when seeing this”.

Mainly thanks to word to mouth on twitter, the Kinpri movie got more and more popular and by half of February there was more than 47 theaters showing it, at least one in each prefecture, so the movie is currently shown in “all of Japan” like the official twitter says. Except Okinawa because no one cares. Right now the movie is in 53 different theaters and earned more than 250 million yen.

I don’t know how the movie screenings business works, but I think Kinpri’s situation is very unnatural due to how popular it turned out. The movie started with only 14 theaters showing it, then some theaters stopped showing it while others started. Then during it’s third week there was only around 7 theaters left, but then they started the screening events. As the staff explained during the live event on March 9th I wrote of below, a virtuous circle began with people going to the screening events, tweeting about how fun it is, and more and more people went to see the movie and in turn say how good it is. So there was more demand and more cinemas started showing it.  As a comparison the Accel World movie that got announced will debut right from the start in 24 different theaters, and then that number will probably drop until the movie stops being shown completely.

Some of the new screenings added in February were planned from the start though, and not only added due to popularity. But if it went like originally planned, the overall numbers of screenings wouldn’t have went up as whenever a theater started showing it, one would stop. That list of planned theaters was always on the website, but starting February it got longer and longer. Right now there’s even theaters planning screenings in April, a month from now.

I think the biggest reason it’s getting popular is thanks to fans campaigning on social media so Kinpri gets a sequel. The staff stressed this out a lot during the event on March 9th. They kept saying it’s thanks to people on Twitter. There’s tons of fanart. Tons of one page manga with jokes related to PR in general. A lot of these are stuff with Wakana, Kazuki, Taiga and Alexander since Taiga and Alec are the two most popular new character. And especially there’s tons of people making reaction manga of their own experience with the movie, tweeting it to their friends telling them to go watch it too. There’s even popular seiyuus or authors who are tweeting about Kinpri telling people to go watch it and Pretty Rhythm. Maybe we’re witnessing the start of Japan and the world realizing Pretty Rhythm is anime of the decade.

Usually in the “random” section of these news posts, I always try to post every funny fanart, manga, cosplay etc I see, but there’s so much now I can’t keep up, I only put in a handful of them. Even as writing this post my “things to put next PR news post” bookmark folder got longer and longer. Then again I started writing this on March 5th and it took me a week to go over the folder. This isn’t the longest PR post I did, but I think I haven’t spent that much time on one post since the After Party event post. Something like 20 hours. For comparison sake the Juné interview I posted recently took me 5 hours to translate. Then again I’m mostly doing it for myself, In the 1st place I researched all the info in this post because I wanted to know them myself. I’m not complaining or anything. I’m having fun.

In case you’re wondering, fanart like these that has started popping up have the girls with the new hairstyles they have in their Kinpri cameos.

Remainder: What I always call “screening event” are the “ouenjoueikai”, the screenings where people are allowed to come cosplayed, the lyrics are displayed to karaoke, etc. What you see in the video above. Some are one hour long like the movie. Some are hours long screenings, where they show BD versions of RL episodes, route 4 of the PR&PP movie, and then Kinpri. ( The RL episodes shown are different each time, except some they always show like the finale.)

Most of the time if there’s no source link then the author’s name is in the filename.

I remember back at those Ryukishi07 conferences, the french translator said at one point “I’m autospoiling myself”, beacuse he was translating what Ryukishi san said while he didn’t finish Umineko himself. I know that feeling now. I pretty much spoiled myself all of Kinpri and it’s details now because of all the stuff I read or translated. But I’m sure the movie is so awesome you can still enjoy it after getting spoiled.

Pretty Rhythm All Star Selection Anime Official Guide Book: Shishido Rumi Juné interview

prad3 artist irua juné hijiri wedding dress

Fanart by Irua

Remainder this book was released 31st of July 2014.

Juné’s official name spelling is June. But I don’t really care because there’s better things in life to do than being bothered by how an anime character’s name is spelled. I always wrote it Juné because it confuses my brain to say June, since there’s already the word June in English. While there’s no “Rinne” word in French/English, so I don’t have to spell Rinne’s name Rinné. Anyway I hope you’re not triggered by name spelling because I’m gonna Juné Juné Juné.And I’m not gonna Juné about whether you Juné or not.

prad3 juné figure shishido rumi

The 14th February 2016 Shishido Rumi posted on her blog a photo of her holding a doll of Juné she got from a fan. That’s currently her twitter avatar as well. She really likes Juné and Pretty Rhythm.

prad3 juné doll figure made by sekigucheap

It looks a lot like a figure made by this twitter user I posted a long time ago, so I think this person is the one who gave her the figure.

If you’re looking for a game to play you should try out Tales of Innocence on DS or Vita. Vita version is an enhanced port with 4 characters in battle instead of 3, and 2 new characters. The Vita version is Japanese only though. I’m talking about it now because there’s a character voiced by Shishido Rumi in the game whose story is a bit similar to Juné. It’s also one of the best Tales of games. There’s a pretty original story, and there’s one of the funniest and best “crazy I kill people for fun” archetype villain ever in it.

Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live Anime Official Guide Book: Kato Emiri Naru interview

prad3 38 naru savouring her food gif

Notes:
Not gonna translate the entire book. Not gonna scan the entire book either.
This book was released when Rainbow Live was still airing, 21st December 2013, the day episode 39 aired.

Q: Naru is an unusual type of main character, how did you feel about voicing her?

When I took the audition, I thought she’s a girl that stand out because of her airheadness. After hearing more, I understood she’s a girl that leads to happiness. The difficulty is how to express that happiness. Even when bad things happen, Naru tries her best to make the people around her happy using her own happiness, so I was anxious about if I will be able to make the others seiyuus around me feel like how Naru would make them feel.

Q:The happy naru phrase was something there from the start ?

Yes. But it didn’t have any specifications set in stone. They told me “please say it the way you see fit”. When I asked them “What does happy naru means?” They said “It’s a catchphrase, so it would be good if it leaves an impression”. They’re the words that come out naturally when Naru feels happy, so they have to not feel weird and fit in with the lines said before and after. I also had to say it while thinking it. The sensation of believing the words you’re acting genuinely come from your consciousness. Doing this made me close to Naru I think. I’m actually the type of person that live by “nantoka na~ru” just like Naru. I live trying to be positive. I do feel depressed when bad things happen but at those times I try to get back on my feet as much as possible, and try my best to remain positive. My friends as well often tell me I get back up on my feet amazingly fast, so much that they want me to teach them how I do it. Learning from Naru, I’ve also been trying to be even more positive, both with work and private matters.

Q:Did you receive any particular instructions in addition to your acting ?

Most of the time I was told my acting alone is fine. But for gag scenes there were indications on the script telling me to go “fugya!” and I was told to do it exactly like that. For crying scenes too it was written to not do a normal crying sound but a “fueeen” like crying sound. There were a lot of times when I was asked to do momentarily reactions like these exactly as it said on the script.

Q:Speaking of crying scenes…

You mean the scene where she gets rejected by Kouji kun right. I had to redo the “fueen” crying of that scene countless times. I’d cry normally instead of the “fueen” sound Naru does. Also, conveying how “She doesn’t know why she’s crying, so it’s different from how she’d cry normally” was the most difficult part. I had to draw from within myself the sensation of being rejected, while not being fully aware of your own feelings.

Q :It was a very painful scene to watch.

Naru chan didn’t have the self awareness of getting rejected then. Even now. The fact that she could speak normally with Kouji kun and Ito chan right after was impressive. Kouji kun isn’t the type of boy to show his emotions. Was he interested in Naru chan? Is he interested in Ito chan? Areee? Suddenly Ito Chan? I was surprised by the sudden development. Certainly he wasn’t thinking of Naru in a romantic way, but more like a little sister, wanting to save her, do something for her… Kouji kun also has a timid side to him, so he needs someone strong to push him.

Q:How do you think the romance element will go from now on?

I don’t want Naru chan to get hurt, so I think it’d be best she doesn’t get involved in love for a bit. Couples are appearing one after another, but I think Naru chan and Otoha chan aren’t suited for love struggles like that. I’d like it if they lived their lives peacefully until they naturally find someone.

Q:Is there any line of dialogue or scene that left you a big impression?

The scene where Kouji sings to save Naru. How Naru trying her best to do her Prism Live feels the taste of failure for the first time. She’s usually so happy, but couldn’t bear it anymore, and started crying. It was the first time in the show she brought forth that sort of negative emotion. It was very surprising to see her like that compared to her usual self, I was wondering if she could overcome it. She couldn’t and started crying, that sort of thing is very girly and cute, but I wanted to comfort and help her.

Q:After that point in the show Naru definitely started growing. Is that change reflected in your acting?

The way I say the jumps’ names during Prism Live changes a bit. The most noticeable thing are the songs though. Naru’s my song was made before her development, but Happy Rain’s was made after and reflects how she settled her feelings, and tries to have fun with Prism Lives and make everyone enjoy it. The duo song too, as Naru evolved even more then. Being able to do a show with the person she admires Bell sama, I thought it surely must have been fun for Naru but also a challenge.

Q:Besides your own, which one is your favorite character ?

I think everyone likes Hiro sama. His lines are always super funny, and his gestures always makes you go “Why is he doing this?” lol. For example how he always bite his glasses, or how he was spying on Kouji during the Ito x Kouji kiss scene. Or his Prism Show with how he was on a bed and his ‘good morning” and “I belong to everyone” lines. That one was definitely the most intense. In a lot of ways, I went “Hiro sama kyaaaaaaa” lol. As for the girls, it’s difficult to choose, Wakana is fine, but I like Otoha the most. I think she’s girly, loves everyone in Bell Rose, and she’s genuinely thoughtful of the people around her. It feels like she can heal you with her overflowing love. She’s nice, but will scold you if there’s the need to. I really like her. After that, I’m interested if Hiro sama and Bell sama will end up together or not. Hiro sama likes Kouji but he likes Bell too, which will he pick. Bell also shows signs of caring about HIro, and gets worried about him, will they end up together, or will it stay like this.
(I like Otoha but clearly Wakana >Otoha)

Q:How do you think the story will go from now on?

Right now Rinne’s chan emotions are coming back bit by bit, how she will have to return to the Prism World is what piques my interest. When Rinne chan goes back to the Prism World, what will happen to the Pair Tomos? Naru and the others won’t be able to do Prism Lives anymore lol. Just like Hijiri san, I’m thinking a lot about the future of the Prism Show scene lol.

Q: A word to the readers to wrap things up ?

Contrary to the expectations you can have of a show aimed at children, there’s a lot of details adults can greatly enjoy too. Like dealing with frustration, discouragement, relationships between fiends, gloomy family environments… each character’s drama is expended upon, yet there’s not a character overshadowed by another, I think this is one of the nice things about this series.
I don’t know myself either how things will go from now on, so I look forward to discovering it together with everyone.

Pretty Rhythm All Star Selection guidebook get

prad4 guidebook 01 prad4 guidebook 02 prad4 guidebook 03

Pretty much like with the Rainbow Live guidebook, there’s way more stuff that I expected. There’s an illustration gallery, with illustrations by Watanabe Akio and Matsuura Mai, all the DVD covers of Aurora Dream and Dear My Future, and some of the CD covers of Rainbow Live.

After that,  there’s a summary of each season, with an introduction of the characters and the key moments. The Rainbow Live Guidebook covers 3/4th of the show. So this Guidebook covers what the Rainbow Live Guidebook didn’t: the end of the show. Apparently there’s some clarifications on some events too, like the Juné flashback in episode 48. There’s also a part about Hijiri Jin and Rei’s rivalry, Lucky Star, the penguins etc. It seems just like summaries of the events but maybe there’s also new details, haven’t read everything yet. What I did read though are the small parts about what every character did at the end, and they don’t say anything new. It’s just a summary of the stuff you see in the ending. For example: there’s a part about how Wakana and Ann confess to Kazuki at the end, but it doesn’t say anything more than the show, it doesn’t say if he accepted one of them or not.

prad4 guidebook 05
Of all the pics of Wataru they could have picked!!!
Then there’s Aurora Dream and Rainbow Live parts. These are also just global summaries of the shows. There’s also stuff on some of the side characters who played a big role, like Furea or Togashi Karina.

prad4 guidebook 04 prad4 guidebook 08

One thing nice is that the two shows’ section are separated, so for the characters returning in DMF, you have their AD profile and their DMF profile.

prad4 guidebook 07

Shi Yoon best.

prad4 guidebook 06

Each season also has a complete episode list, with a short summary of the episodes and the main staff who worked on it. It makes it much more easier to compare staff. Even for one of my favorite shows ever like Pretty Rhythm, I never felt like doing it because it’s too much of a hassle, but it’s really easy with this. For example, I could easily check that like they said at the After Party Event, all the last episodes of Dear My Future had scripts by Tsubota Fumi.

prad4 guidebook 09

After that there’s one of the funniest sections, a complete listing of all the Prism Jumps in all three seasons. It’s super complete. It’s listed in categories: the Splash jumps, the Shower jumps, the Spiral jumps,  the Fresh jumps, duo jumps, trio jumps, and individual jumps. It even tells who did what and in each season, and the variants. There’s even the ones that were only done once, like the special halloween ones etc. There’s also a list of all the Prism Acts in DMF. There’s even the “fake” Prism Jumps that were in the specials DVD shorts of Aurora Dream. That’s really cool that they included a section like that. Pure fanservice.

After that comes the interviews:
5 pages long interview of the seiyuus of Hiro Kouji and Kazuki.
3 pages interview of Shishido Rumi, who voiced Juné. All the RL girls had an interview in the RL Guidebook except her, so they gave her an interview too.
3 pages interview of Itou Kanae, who did young Sonata, Kaname, Hye In and Akaii Meganee.

I’m not a seiyuu fan but I’m really interested on what they say on each of the characters, it must be fun. Especially Itou Kanae, since she voices so many characters. I think it’s one of the few shows I know where one seiyuu voiced so many characters, I’m sure she must say at least one interesting thing about it.

Then there’s an interview of Hishida Masakazu, Iuchi Shuji and Tsubota Fumi. From the pics featured, it seems they talk about some of my favorite parts the shows, like Bell’s character development, Hiro’s obsession with Kouji, Mia and Hye In, Kyouko, etc etc so it should be super interesting. I hope there’s tons of new things that wasn’t already said in Twitter or the events.

prad4 guidebook 11

After that there’s an interview of Matsuura Mai. First two pages are about the girls, with pics of early animation purpose designs of NaruItoAnn she drew, so they’re different but a bit similar from the original chara designs drafts by Okama in the RL Guidebook. Okama did the original chara design while Matsuura Mai adapted them. Then the two next pages are about the boys. It has the early RL boys designs they already showed at the After Party event. That’s why I don’t think there’s a lot of new things in this part because it seems to go over some of the stuff they said about the RL boys chara design at the After Party event.

After that there’s a two pages interview of Mieno Hitomi, on how she wrote the lyrics of the songs in RL and her impressions on some of the songs/performances in RL .

Right after, there’s a two pages interview of Akao Deko, on her job at series composition for AD and DMF. (Yes, this is actually separated. Mieno Hitomi=Akao Deko, but she’s credited as two different persons. I guess she wants to separate her scriptwriter career from her songwriter/singer career)

After that there’s a 4 pages interview of Watanabe Akio, the original character designer of AD and DMF. Watanabe Akio is a pretty good chara designer. Bakemonogatari is a great example. Too bad all the seasons after the original look totally uninteresting.
Back in 2011 when Aurora Dream was about to start, when seeing it on Random Curiosity’s season preview, one of the things that made me write it down on my watchlist is that the girls look cute. I actually don’t really watch shows just because of cute girls, but I still decided to check it out. I don’t regret my decision.

There’s the early designs of Mion, Aira and Rizumu. Rizumu doesn’t change much between designs as he didn’t design her from scratch as she was already in the game. There’s also how Mion was first called Mai then Rion, then they changed it to Mion. Aira was called Mii at first. The AD early designs in the book were published already. I remember seeing them a long time ago. I think from the Akio Watanabe Animation Design Works book which was scanned and that you can find everywhere.

prad4 guidebook 12prad4 guidebook 15

Kaname’s early design and clothes look super cute. And Aira’s mom was fat from the start hahaha.

prad4 guidebook 16prad4 guidebook 13

Kyouko used to have a more glamour look. Jun looks 100% awesome just like his final design. The Prizmmy girls all look much younger except for Ayami.

prad4 guidebook 14
Jae Eun, Chae Kyoung, So Min, Shi Yoon, Hye In
Listing them in case you don’t recognize them as they look so different.

Meanwhile for the Korean girls, Hye In had twintails.  I like these early designs more than the final ones except for and Hye In and Shi Yoon. Chae Kyoung, Jae Eun and So Min look older and way better than in the show.

The last thing is a 6 pages interview of Hishida Masakazu, Yoshihiro Otobe, and Kyogoku Takahiko, calling them “the team behind the CG of Pretty Rhythm”. It’s definitely the funniest looking interview, as they talk about what kind of illegal weed did they smoke to get the idea for Mion’s ultimate jump Eternal Big Bang Beautiful World, or Hiro’s super gay jumps like Jounetsu Neppu Starlight Kiss. Jokes aside, they do talk about these two jumps in particular. Also about the evolution of the CG in Rainbow Live,  how they get the ideas for jumps and how they make them etc, so it’s by far the most interesting thing in the book in my opinion. If there’s one thing in the book I’m sure I’m gonna read translate and post about it here, it’s this interview.

Pretty Rhythm isn’t really popular so that’s the main reason I bought the book, I highly doubt anyone ever gonna scan it, or even make a small summary about the info in it. I won’t scan it either, way too much effort. It seems like a good opportunity to read stuff about seiyuu work, chara design, how people at series composition or directors work,  and tons of little details on how to make an anime in general so I’m pretty happy I bought this. It’ll also help me study Japanese.
Unless I die or something big happens, I’ll try to read it and post some summaries of the info&interviews in the next months. Yeah I’m not really in a hurry. And if someone already did it in the meanwhile I’ll just link it here. I’m also trying to do the same with the interviews in the Rainbow Live guidebook.
I also bought the movie BD. Speaking of which someone ripped it and it’s up on the net. That sure was unexpected. I got a Akaii Meganee postcard with it.

I think the only thing missing is a page dedicated to Beef Or Chicken.

Pretty Rhythm’s anime is over. Arcade game machines too will start to be replaced by Pri Para machines this July. It’s way more abrupt than I predicted. When they announced Pri Para in March I thought they would remove them progressively. Like the article says, some Prism Stone shops will keep the game though, but they’ll stop selling memory passes, (so if I ever go back to Japan and want to play it I’ll probably have to buy one from someone)
Pretty Rhythm is done, completed, dead. So there was this event to commemorate it’s three years of service (four if you count from when the arcade game was launched)

I’m not living in Japan, so I didn’t attend.  I really wanted to go though, and am really interested about what happened there, so just like with the xmas event, I looked around 2ch about it. Someone nice wrote a report of the talk show part, and they also published something about the event on Animate.
Been a while I wrote a long post like that. I read it because I’m interested in it myself and I know no one gonna translate it anytime soon. As it takes me some time to translate, writing things down is easier, so posts like these just come in naturally sorta. I’m reading and writing this first for myself. And more importantly, it’s fun.

Needless to say there’s spoilers for all three seasons so I wouldn’t recommend reading if you haven’t seen them all. It doesn’t spoil things too major, so I guess it’s still safe to read even if you haven’t seen Dear My Future as it’s not fully subbed yet. (Besides the horrible quality ones on youtube. I wonder if they’re still online)

Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live – 49

prad3 49 04

This sure was sad. Just as awesome as last week but in another ways. Still at the level of DMF’s ending, but not surpassing it.
(Not gonna post many pics cuz I’m busy. The problem when I watch Pretty Rhythm is that I can’t help but write about it. I could spare 20 minutes to watch it sure, but not the ~2h as usual to write a post and read twitter etc.)

Pretty Rhythm’s successor Puri Para announced

prad5 girls

Similar to the time when All Star Selection got announced, the article on ANN is pretty complete, but it’s still missing little bits of info I read on other Japanese news site, like Animate. So you should read the ANN article BEFORE reading this. I’m not gonna repeat stuff they already said. (Unless if by the time I finish typing this, they edit their article and add the things they missed). I’m also including some news I read on Twitter. Sorry if the post is a bit confusing, I’m not a very good writer or journalist. Just read it twice if you don’t understand something.

EDIT after All Star Selection started: Yeah I was so optimistic when I wrote this post hahaha. All Star Selection turned out to be just reairs with SD segments at the beginning & end. Really disappointing.

Some info on Pretty Rhythm All Star Selection & movie

prad4 magazine lala prad4 stones stuffjpg

It’s from six days ago though. I was busy so didn’t have the time to check. I’m not sure which magazine the pictures are from. Maybe it’s actually written on the photos and I’m too stupid to notice it.
It seems like a kids magazine so my best guess is Puchigumi magazine, but the next issue gets released the 15th of March… April issue of Animage gets released the 10th of March so there’s no way it got leaked that early either. I don’t have much to say about the new season in this post actually, most of the stuff is too small so I can’t read it. Most of the stuff I can read is stuff we already know.

The new heroine is called called らあら Laala/Rara/Lala. I don’t really care how names are spelt as long as we know who we’re talking about. I want to spell it Laala because I like it the most, but typing that extra “a” all the time will make me loose one hour of my life or more in the long run so I’ll just use Lala. There’s something about her being a navigator, but again it’s too small.

EDIT: They announced at the movie premiere that Lala is voiced by Akaneya Himika. She’s a member of the idol band i☆Ris, just like An’s seiyuu Serizawa Yuu. And just like her, it’s one of her first roles as a seiyuu and she’s a rookie.

Someone (probably Mewpudding the author of the Pretty Rhythm wiki) updated the ANN page of All Star Selection with this:

“Young girl Lala is a Prism Show student, and is aiming to become an idol. She learns the way to shine from previous Prism Stars, including Aira Harune, Mia Ageha, and Naru Ayase. She looks back to the past with her mentors to their many experiences and Prism Shows.”

I know this sounds a lot like it’ll be rewind only, but we won’t know until we see it. And I have never heard of a whole anime season of rewind before.

Starting now this is just me speculating about the new season, I don’t have any basis for what I’m saying so take it with a grain of salt:

The best case scenario about All Star selection, is that it’ll feature all the heroines meeting and working together to help Lala. Leading to many funny scenes and crossover moments. However it’ll bring tons of time conflict like how Aira wouldn’t know about Mia if it’s her Aurora Dream version, among other things. It would be great if they can all travel together and meet each other. Before the director explicitly said that Rainbow Live won’t be a sequel and that it won’t share character with AD/DMF, I used to think that Rinne would get her memories back at the end of the first half of Rainbow Live, and that the second half would feature her and Naru and co traveling dimensions together and meeting the past characters. It would be pretty cool if that’s kinda what happens with All Star selection. In each episode you’ll get Lala doing a Prism Show with one of the heroine and then they’ll join her dimension traveling team and they’ll stick together till the end. Lala doesn’t wear skate so she probably doesn’t skate, and they do refer to her as an “idol” instead of a “Prism Star”, but we could see all the others heroines skate in stage around her.

The worst case scenario would be Lala traveling alone, meeting the heroines one by one, with them actually never meeting each other. If so, they won’t have to worry about time inconsistencies or anything. Adding insult to the injury would be playing back the exact same Prism Shows from the previous season and just inserting Lala in them, standing around and singing.

I think the end result will be some kind of mix between these two scenarios. No matter how the summary makes it sound like, I definitely don’t believe the whole season will be just one huge rewind. I don’t think this ever happened and I don’t think it’ll happen now. I’m sure it’ll have an actual story and be full of new scenes.

I don’t think they announced any of the staff working on the show yet so we’ll still have to wait for that. Well, speculation over.

prad3 ep 48-51 summaries not actually spoiling anything

This also got posted on the same 2ch thread. These are the episode titles for the next eps of RL. Some magazines, like Animage, also have summaries. These actually get posted on 2ch every month but I never bring it up because they’re useless. They don’t really spoil anything and the summaries are just phrases not actually revealing anything. And if it does say stuff, it’s always stuff I had already guessed. And for this month, it’s true as well. Since episode 48 will be Wakana and Bell’s shows, everyone can guess that episode 49 will feature Juné and Naru, and that Rainbow Live will happen in episode 50. Then 51 will be the epilogue. These spoilers stayed vague and useless till the end.

About the movie

Seems the tickets for the movie premieres are selling well. Most of the day one screenings are filled according to the official site.

prad movie cg scenes from director twitter

I think I posted this already in an episode post. Director posted it iirc, it’s pics of some of the Prism Shows featured in the movie.

prad3 mia 2 days left until the movie

2 days left until the movie.

The movie’s official site says that it’ll be about the Pretty Rhythm mascots introducing the audience to the ten best Prism Shows in the series. Like I just said in my previous post, the director said on twitter it’ll have new scenes. They also already said that a new character will appear in it, and I’m 100% sure they mean Lala, so the movie definitely has a story. It’s not recap only. Director also said that it won’t have spoilers, and that you can watch it without seeing the previous seasons as it’ll introduce the characters to you etc.
Adding to that, on the character page, the only characters introduced are Akai Meganee, Penguin Sensei and Momo. So I guess that’s who they mean when they say the “Pretty Rhythm mascots”.

The Penguin Sensei and Momo description doesn’t say anything in particular but the Akai Meganee description says: “She’s the one who guides people to the Prism World. Her secret will be revealed in this movie!?”
MFW AKAII MEGANE IS REVEALED TO BE PRETTY RHYTHM TRUE FINAL BOSS. She’s actually Prism Decade and wants to fuse all Pretty Rhythm dimensions and destroy everything. Joking aside, though I really want this to happen, I guess the most probable guess is that she used to be a normal person, a Prism Star or an idol probably, and after a chain of events she became the person guiding people to the Prism World or something. And now maybe Lala will replace her, and that’s why all the heroines from the dimensions needs to train her. That could also explain why they call Lala a navigator, because she’ll become the new navigator guiding people to the Prism World. That’s just me speculating of course.

In any case, remember the movie isn’t just stock footage of ten prism shows with nothing else. There is a story, there is new scenes. And all the stuff I said about the character page just now confirms  at the very least there will be chatting and an actual scenario instead of just recap.

Also, judging from the screening dates and hours, it seems the movie is one hour long.

On the cast and staff pages:

Hishida Masakazu, director of the three seasons is also directing the movie. Akao Deko is doing the script.

In the cast list, Kaname and all the Korean girls aren’t listed. The list however says “他 ” which basically means “others” so there’s people not listed that will appear in the movie.

There’s going to be a movie screening + a talk show with some of the seiyuu the 16th of March. It’ll be at the 横浜ブルク/Yokohama Burk theater. It seems there will be a concert too and you’ll be able to sing together with them. Seiyuus who’ll attend are Kato Emiri/Naru, Saori Goto/Otoha and Ookubo Rumi/Mia. Maybe they’ll announce others later. Tickets are 2800 yen. They’ll distribute arcade game Prism Stones to the children attending. I’m not even sure why I’m even writing about that, 99%% of the people who will read this can’t go anyway.
